Senior Product Manager

The Role

The Senior Product Manager leads the inception, launch and roll out of products across the world, in multiple brands and languages based in our centrally located KL offices. You will lead the team in product planning, strategy and development. You will deliver products that can scale, with just enough process to keep it fast and light.

You’ll own and manage the priorities working with local teams to determine the roadmap, taking into account local requirements and figuring out how to create a shared service that suits their needs. You’ll also figure out the detailed user requirements, manage stories and sprints as well as work closely with the engineers to build products fast that scale sensibly.

About You

You’ll be a strong leader who knows how to manage the needs of many stakeholders. You’ll have excellent communication skills, great empathy and the ability to say no as much as you say yes, whilst maintaining great outcomes for your customers. You’ll love people, have an open mind to solution finding and know how to empower your teams.

You’ll have managed digital products before, and can demonstrate how you have made an impact, either on your team, the product or the customers, using data and other evidence. In fact, you’re used to backing things up with real data and if it isn’t in a dashboard, you’ll figure out how to get it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify key objectives and priorities for the product.

  • Prioritise the roadmap, plan sprints and manage requirements through user stories.

  • Create key success measures and demonstrate progress or identify blockers and potential solutions.

  • Work closely with analytics to track the performance of products and report to key stakeholders.

  • Drive tangible results by facilitating collaboration between teams and be the driving force that pulls people together to achieve the best outcomes for our customers.

  • Play a key role in product discovery to ensure we are building usable, valuable and feasible products that our customers love.

  • Build relationships and support other Product streams in their mission to build amazing products.

  • Stay abreast of industry and competitor trends, and share insights and learnings across the group.

Essential Skills, Experience and Competencies

  • 3 years’ experience as a product manager with hands on knowledge of what it takes to deliver great digital experiences.

  • A relentless drive to get stuff done. A hands-on problem solver, you take ownership, are comfortable with ambiguity and will take an idea and make it happen; you persevere when others fall away.

  • The ability to weigh up trade-offs, make tough calls and prioritise effectively in a collaborative manner. Always striving to be fast, practical and focused on getting the right outcome for our customers.

  • Keen eye for detail. You make sure nothing gets missed.

  • Obsessive about solving real customer problems. You value customer input and actively seek out ways to test your hypotheses early and often.

  • You have sufficient technical understanding to debate across all levels of the organization on analytics, agile methodologies, responsive design, code quality, system scalability and site reliability without skipping a beat.

  • Well-developed communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders of all levels. While comfortable working independently you still excel at building and maintaining relationships with counterparts in other countries.

  • You are well versed in collaborating through online tools like Trello, Slack and Skype among others.

  • Agile or scrum based experience.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent storytelling skills.

  • Leadership and coaching expertise.

  • Experience working in an online/digital business.
